Wisconsin Seal-A-Smile (SAS) grants local school-based oral health programs funding to provide preventive dental care to children in more than 850 schools across Wisconsin.
Children receive care right at school.
There is no cost to children or their families.
A permission form must be filled out before any child can participate.
What are dental sealants?
Dental sealants are a thin plastic coating painted on the chewing surface of back teeth. Sealants protect the deep grooves from developing cavities. The picture below shows what a tooth looks like before and after a sealant is placed.
Dental sealants can prevent up to 80% of cavities and can be placed on your child's teeth at school.
